All Packed and ready to Go!

Just finished packing for the Big adventure! Now I'm so wired I can't sleep...

The agenda is all set! Tomorrow morning we're off bright and early to our First stop at the Tank museum in Danville, VA (this is me, rolling my eyes)... From the Tank Museum we're off to visit Monticello, which I cannot wait to see. The Jefferson memorial is my most favorite in Washington, DC so I've always wanted to see Jefferson's home. After Monticello we will stop at Red Hill where we scout-out the Patrick Henry National Memorial. After Red Hill in Brookneal, VA we'll head into DC and check in at the Doubletree. There's no question about where we're having Dinner tomorrow night. It's gotta be Chevy's in Arlington because we MISS Chevy's in Carmel so much and the one in Arlington is the closest one to us!

Friday morning at 7:30AM we will be on Tour at the White House - I am SO unbelievably excited! After the White House tour we're going to dash over to visit Mt. Vernon. After Mt. Vernon we have to be back to the Capitol for our 1PM tour there. After the Capitol tour we're off to Arlington National Cemetery to visit the Custis-Lee Mansion and the Tomb of the Unknown Solider - hopefully, at Sunset.

Saturday is Agenda-free, although we do want to Visit (his) parent's graves and take some Flowers by, and I really want to make a Run over to Reston to take a look at the Condo where we first lived after we were Married in '85. It's also the scene of where my beloved MGB was stolen and I grew up in what Felt like a New York minute. 2220 Castlerock Square, Reston, VA... That address, like the home phone number we had in Germany when I was 12, (522105) is burned into my mind.

Saturday evening is his Reunion, 7PM-midnight. It should be Interesting! I won't know a soul there but I do have the fact that I'm almost a Decade younger than his class going for me - Ha! Of course, I imagine there might be a few mid-Life crisis, second-marriage Barbie-wives there. So we'll see.

Sunday I plan to Sleep in as late as the fine people at the Doubletree will let me, and I'm ordering Breakfast (or maybe lunch) in bed! Before we leave DC we have to hit the Gift shop at the National Cathedral to replace a Book that we somehow managed to misplace.

On the way out of Town we're making a Stop at Trader Joe's in Falls Church (I already stashed my Cute cube-cooler away on the Back seat!) and at Ikea. The last stop on the way home is Richmond, VA. I can't recall for you what Battleground, museum or Historical marker is on his List there at the moment, but as long as there is a Gift shop I'll be a happy Girl.

More tomorrow!
