Old Salem Farmer's Market, Vintage BMW's and one very Considerate thief!

We finally made it to the Farmer's Market at Old Salem this
morning! One of my most favorite things about living here is Old Salem!
We had no idea there would also be a vintage BMW show
happening too! The BMW Isetta 600 is one of my favorite cars!
And here's one now! It was a lovely morning to be at Old Salem...
We ran into neighbors...
We strolled and sampled a few goodies...
Then we went to lunch and made plans for the rest of our day!
Then we took an unplanned detour...
And while I was distracted for only a moment...
Some wonderful human being grabbed my wallet!
Dear Considerate Criminal...
Thank you for only taking the cash from my wallet and then stuffing
it into the pillow section for safe keeping until an honest store clerk
could find and return it to me. It would have been horribly upsetting
to lose nearly $400 in gift cards, a brand new books of stamps, the
keys to my luggage and post office box... Not to mention my driver's
licenses, my voter registration and my Realtor identification cards!
Your thoughtfulness helped turn my disappointment into gratitude!
As for the cash... Consider it a deconstructed reward for doing a really good thing!
After all... I was told you probably needed it more than I did!

  1. Oh my. I can't believe they only took the cash. That part was lucky. Other than that, it looks like you had a lovely day. :)

  2. Wow...that is crazy, Janet! So happy you got it back with everything else in tact! You would have been on the phone for hours trying to replace all of that. Hope you had already spent most of your cash! ;)

  3. Oh my gosh. I'm sorry to hear that. But like you said the good side of it is getting it back with all your other stuff. My daughter had her purse stollen and her loss was $400.00 cash along with everything else. So glad you had a happy ending to your outing. My fav is the elf limo.

  4. Talk about a thief who only took what he/she needed. I too think that the person who took your cash simply needed the money. Thankfully they stashed your wallet in the pillows in the store and did not go and dump it and the remains of it's contents in a dumpster somewhere.

    P.S. I've never seen a BMW Isetta 600. CUTE!!!

  5. i'm so sorry to hear your wallet was stolen, but then happy to hear all was returned minus the cash. All the cards are such a pain tp have to replace! That thief would have been out of luck with my wallet. I seldom have cash in it.

  6. Oh goodness! First of all, it warms my heart to see your beautiful yard bouncing back from the flood. Everything looks so lush. The pool just sparkles! Keep up the great work!
Could you, pretty please, tell me where your Secret Savings Spot is?? I've been scouring your blog looking for a clue...and I've given up!
    My email is:

  7. Thanks for the kind comments about my BMW Isetta 600 (the Elf Limo). My son and I had a great time in Winston Salem. Wonderful bunch of friendly people. We stayed at the Hawthorne and enjoyed that too. Hope to see you next year.

PS---glad you got all the important stuff back from your wallet!

  8. Oh my goodness, Janet. I absolutely love your outlook on the wallet thief. Incredible story, and otherwise sounds like a fun day. :)
