Finally, a call!

FINALLY! After no phone call since April 9th, when he told us one of his fellow Rangers and someone he knew was killed, Brandon finally called last night!

I was OVER-worried. Barely able to function the past few days when the phone finally rang at 11:30PM. Thank you, God! is always my first thought when I see those strange numbers on the caller-ID. Brandon's okay. I'm okay.

Are you safe? As safe as I can be.

He can never say much. Always says it'll have to wait until he's home and can see us. I cannot even imagine how happy the day will be!

We love you. I love you too. We miss you. Miss you too. Can't wait for you to come home. Counting down the days. We're almost half-way there. Yeah. Half-way.

“Lest I keep my complacent way I must remember somewhere out there a person died for me today. As long as there must be war, I ask and I must answer, was I worth dying for?”
- Eleanor Roosevelt

  1. I can hear the relief in your post Janet........I'm so thrilled you're all almost 1/2 way thru this!!

    you're all in my heart and prayers every day!♥

  2. Glad you got to hear you Brandon's voice. I know when I get to even instant message with my really close friend that is in Iraq right now I feel better knowing he is okay.

  4. Hi Janet!
    So glad to have stopped by this morning! Celebrating that phone call with you and so happy that you're halfway there!
    I keep Brandon in my prayers and think of him when I say the pledge with my students every morning {I keep the soldiers I know in mind during the pledge and encourage my students to do the same}
    Beautiful quote from E. Roosevelt*
    Keep well in heart and soul ♥ Maria

  5. As a mother of two, one a member of the Canadian Forces I know that the waiting is the worst. Glad that you received your much awaited phone call and happy that you are almost at the half-way mark! God's speed for your son's safe return.

  6. That is such a powerful quote.

    I'm so glad he called and is safe. Amen!

  7. Halfway already! I know you are so glad. And it must have been heaven to hear his voice. Keeping him in our prayers every day.
