Happy Independence Day!

It's the fourth of July, which means there can never be enough flags!
We're expecting very special company today!
It's been four years since our Ranger has been home during the summer!
Which means this will be the best 4th of July in a long time!
I've been baking and cooking all morning!
On the dessert menu today is a from-scratch
chocolate cake with buttercream frosting!
So good!

Finally... Ranger is here! And, he brought the one home. She
came all the way from Texas to meet us. She's very sweet!
Dinner is served! I applied my brown sugar,
honey, bourbon recipe to my chicken too!
It was just as good on chicken as it was on the ribs I prepared last weekend!
This corn salad with cilantro-lime dressing was fantastic!
Fortunately, everyone left room for cake!
And, Leo made a new friend today!
After dinner there was a garden tour...
