Winston-Salem Farmer's Market and Tomatoes like the Beekman Boys!

I met my friend Nikki at the Winston-Salem farmer's market this
morning because I was on a mission to find very special tomatoes!
You see, last night I served the Beekman 1802 Mortgage Lifter
pasta sauce I ordered after hearing Brent and Josh describe it
during their appearance in Greensboro last month... And, let me
tell you, this is no ordinary tomato sauce! First of all, it smells exactly
like the summer garden and, the taste... Well, lets just say that the first
bite inspired thoughts of picking my own heirloom Mortgage Lifters!
Fortunately, a man at the farmer's market and I were on the same
page! Can you believe this collection of tomato plants? Honestly, I
can't remember seeing a more extensive selection or better variety,
ever! Of this was the section I was after... The Heirloom tomato section!
My heart skipped a beat when I first saw them... Because thanks to Josh
and Brent, I now understand why no life can be complete without these luscious
tomatoes! Prior to this valuable education, I mostly favored the Early Girl
variety of garden tomatoes. A few juicy slices set atop a toasted sesame
bagel with a little cream cheese... Pure heaven! But all that's over now,
because the prize of my summer tomato garden will be Mortgage Lifters!
Who knows? I might actually try to make my very own tomato sauce this
year! Provided I come away with more tomatoes than the raccoons steal!
I can't help but think that Josh and Brent would be proud!
Now if you'll excuse me, I must get busy doing exactly
as this latest Sur la Table catalog I have commands...
Live Outside!
